Sedation dentistry has helped people who dread the dentist receive the care they need. Millions of people postpone dental work because they are fearful, nervous, or embarrassed. Dr. Beck and Dr. Hart understand your anxiety, and can administer oral conscious sedation and IV sedation to calm your nerves and restore your optimal oral health and function.
Oral conscious sedation involves taking a prescribed medication prior to your dental appointment. Arrange for a ride to and from our office, then sit back and let your anxiety melt away. Oral conscious sedation allows you to receive several procedures in a single office visit. You may be in the dentist's chair for hours, but it will feel like minutes. During your visit, you will be able to respond to our doctors but won't feel pain or stress, and many people have little memory of the experience afterward.
IV sedation involves combining intravenous medication with nitrous oxide. Dr. Beck's and Dr. Hart's training allows them to administer this type of sedation for patients who are extremely fearful or have trouble relaxing once they arrive for their appointment. With IV sedation, you'll enter a "twilight" state, which means that you will be between wakefulness and sleep. Dr. Beck or Dr. Hart will closely monitor your level of comfort throughout the procedure and can increase or decrease the level of sedation according to your specific need. As with oral sedation, patients who receive IV sedation remember little of the actual procedure.
If you're fearful or anxious about the dentist, you deserve a compassionate dentist who understands your concerns. Dr. Beck or Dr. Hart will discuss all of your treatment and sedation options with you before your procedure. Sedation dentistry has helped millions smile with confidence.
