IV sedation involves combining intravenous medication with nitrous oxide. Dr. Beck's training allows him to administer this type of sedation for patients who are extremely fearful or have trouble relaxing once they arrive for their appointment. With IV sedation, you'll enter a "twilight" state, which means that you will be between wakefulness and sleep. Dr. Beck will closely monitor your level of comfort throughout the procedure and can increase or decrease the level of sedation according to your specific need. As with oral sedation, patients who receive IV sedation remember little of the actual procedure.
